Safeguarding at Woodfalls Band

At Woodfalls Band, we are fully committed to creating a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone involved in our organisation—particularly children, young people, and adults at risk.

To ensure this, we strictly follow the safeguarding standards and policy templates developed by Brass Bands England in partnership with the NSPCC. These policies are reviewed regularly and set out our procedures for identifying and responding to any concerns, as well as our approach to preventing harm.

We have three key safeguarding policies in place:

  1. Child Safeguarding Policy – outlines how we protect children and young people who engage with the band, either directly or through their families.
  2. Adult Safeguarding Policy – describes how we support and protect adults at risk of abuse or neglect.
  3. Anti-Bullying Policy – details our approach to preventing and addressing all forms of bullying, both in person and online.

Each policy sets clear expectations for behaviour, outlines the steps we take to keep people safe, and explains how concerns can be reported. Our Safeguarding/Welfare Officers are trained to respond to concerns sensitively, promptly and appropriately.

If you are a parent, carer, player, or supporter and would like to view our policies in full, please download them here or contact us directly.
