Wessex Champions!

On Saturday 30th November The Band entered the new look Wessex Brass Band Association winter contest held at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth. With any new venue there were bound to be teething issues but all bands managed to find their way to and around the venue, giving good accounts of themselves on stage.

Woodfalls played off an unlucky No. 13 draw and gave a spirited rendition of Fraternity by Thierry Deleruyelle. This secured the overall Champion Band status in the eyes of adjudicator Mr Steve Sykes who passed on his congratulations to the band for a fine performance.

Not only was the band overall winners but secured the following awards:

Best Musical Interpretation by conductor – Dr. Robert Childs
Highest placed band in the Championship Section

Best Instrumentalist – Jan Boler
Best Trombone Section
Best Percussion
